The surface feels the same which is nice, but it is much more flimsy than the old model and it comes in a much smaller box which means it's curled up really tightly and doesn't flatten out properly when you take it out of the package. Works well with my Logitech mouse, no problems so far. I don’t know about any other mice. Shouldn’t matter though. I was looking for a mousepad that could replace my cloth powerplay mousepad and this one fits perfectly, it is slightly loose sitting on the top of the powerplay plastic, all that means is that the mousepad will have to be adjusted from time to time to sit flush, which is perfectly fine with me!
